Holas. It’s Saturday again somehow, Easter has come and gone, and I broke Lent so many times out of frustration.
I’m writing this from my current workspace, shown above featuring my niño lindo, Lalo. While I toil away trying to apply for unemployment and attempt to freelance my way through a pandemic, he snores or proceeds to lick himself. He naps so well because he doesn’t pay bills and because I hand feed him his treats.
He kept me company while I dealt with a painful medical issue. I couldn’t sit up so I’ve been fact-checking while laying on my stomach and using multiple pillows to prop my shoulders up so I can type. Nothing like losing a job, an apartment, and physical mobility all in a month. But I gained a cat (aka my son) and that’s pretty damn good.
Speaking about apartments, I wrote about what my first ever rental meant to me.

Moneys:
In the case that you have gotten your $1,200 from the gov and have steady employment and savings and are looking to donate a few pesos to orgs doing great work… consider checking out this post on Forbes for suggestions.
If you can, donate to local food banks, small nonprofits that do outreach for undocumented immigrants, low income workers, and other marginalized communities.
